White Island Day Trip We pick up from the door traveling to the beautiful East Coast town of Whakatane joining the boat tour to White Island. The trip includes a guided tour of White Island (the only active Marine Volcano in New Zealand) and the Sulphur Mine. Lunch and refreshments are included on board and we offer return transport to your accommodation. Bookings are Essential. Minimum 4 passengers per tour. There are on occasions 2 tours per day – please phone for details. Departs: 7.00am. See and smell bubbling mud pools and explosive steaming geysers which are a result of the central North Islands continuous volcanic activity. View the translucent Blue and Green Lakes, before continuing through to majestic Mt. Tarawera - the volcano which erupted destroying Te Wairoa Village and the 8th wonder of the world, the Pink & White Terraces, in 1886. Waitomo Black Water Rafting Waitomo Caves are the home of New Zealand’s unique adventure – Blackwater Rafting. Enjoy 3 hours of Cave Tubing in the blackness of the Ruakuri Cave River. Hobbiton Your tour starts in the picturesque Matamata working sheep farm that hosted Hobbiton village. The original Hobbiton village movie set from the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy has been returned to its natural state, however hobbit holes and some structures from the film set are still present. Your tour guide will escort you through the ten acre site recounting fascinating details on how the Hobbiton set was created and highlights from filming. Allow 4 hours. |
